GAMES DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Gala Coral Group is Europe’s largest integrated betting and gaming company, employing around 19,000 employees. As well as over 1,700 betting offices, bingo clubs and casinos, we have a significant online presence in the UK and throughout Europe.

Due to substantial growth in our online and offline offer, we currently have an excellent opportunity for a Games Development Manager, reporting to the Group IT Development Director, to drive forwards our gaming strategy. Your role will be to manage two development teams specialised in online and offline games development, on our custom software platform, and the integration with third party developed gaming products. Key duties include:

Designing client-server games architecture
Supervising development, maintenance and support of new functionalities for the company’s products;
Managing, developing and supervising teams
Liaising with all the projects stakeholders and the other department managers to assess and manage their expectations

THE CANDIDATE:

With an IT or Scientific academic background you will have relevant experience in Gaming Software development and a proven track record of delivery as a Development Manager. You will have experience of all stages of the development lifecycle (specification, development, testing and implementation), and a focus on managing a mid to large-sized team of software engineers.

You will have in-depth knowledge of client-server architectures, both in an online and offline environment, and have experience in developing server-based gaming Architecture. You will have designed gaming algorithms and you’ll be comfortable in leading your team in the development of new ones.

Technologies currently used include PHP, XML, Oracle 10g (and above) , SQL and PL/SQL (triggers, stored procedures) and Adobe Flash; therefore direct experience on one or more of them will be an advantage.

You will be capable of leading projects from inception to delivery, ensuring excellent stakeholder management, thanks to your excellent interpersonal skills. You will manage the teams’ performance and development and help the team leaders in delivering new products according to the business requirement timeline.
