THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Gala Coral Group is Europe’s largest integrated betting and gaming company, employing around 19,000 employees. As well as over 1,700 betting offices, bingo clubs and casinos, we have a significant online presence in the UK and throughout Europe.

The Gala Coral Group’s I.T Operations Department currently has an excellent opportunity for 2 Linux Systems Administrators to provide technical support for the Gala, Coral and Eurobet websites located in Woking and Offshore.

Key duties include:

Reviewing incidents that impact the production service and progressing issues to resolution.
Ensuring that problems are escalated in accordance with established procedures.
Acquiring, maintaining and expanding knowledge of relevant product offerings, current support policies, and methods of support delivery.

Providing technically accurate solutions to users and ensuring that any remedial actions are fed into documented procedures.
Providing a first point of reference in the support of the business’s IT systems by both internal and external customers.
Working with other members of the team and other support specialists in the remedy of issues arising.

THE CANDIDATE:

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

Good communication skills with a service delivery approach.
Experience in Linux systems administration, server hardware, server builds, Apache, PHP, website support skills and maintenance in mission critical environments.
Able to troubleshoot competently unaided and as part of a team.
Knowledge of server hardware and Internet based skills are desirable.

This department operates on a 24/7 shift basis, including weekends and bank holidays, in return for an on-call allowance. The position would be better suited to candidates who live within a short commuting distance to the office.
